Empirical control chart spreadsheet to accompany Levinson and Tumbelty, "SPC Essentials and Productivity Improvement: A Manufacturing Approach" Unlike most commercially-available SPC software, this spreadsheet accepts variable sample sizes, and sets appropriate control limits. (1) See pages 198 to 201 of the book. The following can be copied and used to fit your application. (2) The cells include the formulas for cross-referencing the control chart factors. You may need to change the cell references. (3) If used for process control, do NOT let the spreadsheet recalculate the control limits after every sample. (4) This free spreadsheet does not carry any warranties, expressed or implied. It may be considered freeware, but the book reference must be included in any copies. (C) 1997, William A.
