Laboratory Assignments: Same as Computer Assignments
Grading: Individual lab projects are graded as follows. If they are good enough, you get full credit. If they are not, you get no credit. Each individual lab assignment is worth the number of points listed in parentheses above. The sum of these lab points determines your grade as listed on the following scale.
This is not a particularly difficult course. However, it will be time consuming for students unfamiliar with computers. A major cause of failure in this course is falling behind. Don't fall behind. You will have to work twice as hard. Assignments over two class sessions late will not be accepted.
Students may correct any flaws in their work and resubmit twice for re-evaluation. Normally, students should resubmit the corrected work the week it is returned. The second resubmission then can be submitted the following class, if necessary. In any case, no resubmission will be accepted more that two weeks after the original due date. Recall that acceptable work receives full credit; unacceptable work receives none. Proofread your work very carefully.
Schedule: Please note that the schedule for the submission of assignments is found in the Assignments section above. Submit assignments as you get them done correctly, even if they are early. It is suggested that you plan your time wisely leaving some time to cover unforeseen contingencies.
Also note that it is suggested that you read the textbook material in sufficient detail to ensure a solid understanding of the concepts. Should the assigned reading prove insufficient, it is suggested that you seek special help from the instructor during class and office hours or utilize additional reading resources in area libraries or bookstores. Use open lab times as needed.
Your first computer class usually takes much effort. Computers can be difficult at times for the uninitiated.
NO WORK ACCEPTED AFTER THE END OF THE CLASS!!!!!!!!!
