Process Control Module: ALT 1 - Are We Too Cool? and Beyond

Learning Activities focused on Variable Control Charts and Process Dominance

This first activity involves three parts, found in the Process Control Participant Journal

and a followup activity for two additional variable control charts (median and Average and std deviation) and the use of the Shannin's concept of Precontrol

(1) The First Session understanding the background for choosing the right control system - Process Dominance (2) Are We Too Cool Scenario 1 using an Individual and moving range control chart (Ind and movR) to measure the temperature varation within a room over two different time span, and (3) the Average and Range Chart (X Bar and R) using either Are We Too Cool Scenario 2 Multiple Temperature Readings

Creating other variable control charts to control pasta variation using:

  • Median and Range charts
  • Average and standard deviation charts (s)
  • Precontrol

Choosing the right variable chart to control your process.
