Final Class Assignment QET 212 : Product Testing and Evaluation Test Planning

As a group choose one of the following products for Product Testing and Analysis:

• RGI Ball Bearing Gripper attachment from MET 104 - I have copies of Cathy's Conceptual Design Documentation from last quarter.
• The FMEA wiring harness DFMEA from last quarter's QET 211 class or
• A control panel for a nuclear power plant that has as a component part - 14 volt display bulbs.

1. As individuals, read Background Pages on: Testing and Evaluation.
2. If you want more background pages then questions refer to the PD&T Information Sheet.

4. Write down how these concepts will relate to a test plan for your product.
5. As a team, break down the product design into sub-systems using a block diagram.
6. List the possible failure modes (use of a fault tree is optional) for the defined product as a system and for all sub-systems.
7. Complete the FMEA Worksheet starting at the failure mode level ( If you can't ownload this modified version then I will have it available for you on Thursday)
8. Create a Validation Test Plan(s) that addresses the potential failure modes.
9. As a team, discuss conclusions stemming from completion of Validation Test Plan. Be prepared to present your test plan to the class.
